MEC Block Machine Commissioning Success: Delivering Efficiency & Innovation for a Long-Term Partner

At the end of 2024, another MEC Block Machine left our factory, wrapped and secured for shipment. Now, in early 2025, it’s fully operational at our long-standing customer’s facility in Central Europe, helping them achieve higher efficiency, improved production sustainability, and reduced operational costs. (A true win-win-win?)

Pre-Planning: Moving a Block Machine the Right Way

This was no ordinary installation—the entire block machine and production line were strategically transferred from one facility to another. As planned, we decommissioned the machine, inspected and packed everything, and prepared it for transport to our workshop for modification.

Inspection, Maintenance & Modification: Scaling Up the Machine

Once at our workshop, the machine went through a full inspection and maintenance process, but more importantly, major modifications. The machine needed to be adapted to a larger and different type of production board.

This type of modification is not done with the snap of a finger—poor planning could have rendered the entire machine unusable. That’s why we took extra steps to ensure the scaling-up process was feasible and wouldn’t cause unexpected issues at the new facility.

Once the modifications were completed, the machine was tested and pre-accepted by the customer. Then it was time for wrapping, packing, and shipping.

Installation, Commissioning & Training: The Critical Phase

Installation and commissioning are among the most important steps in ensuring a project’s success. With a tight schedule, the pressure was on—but thanks to pre-planning, an experienced team, and strong coordination, everything went smoothly.

Well, almost everything. A case of food poisoning hit the entire installer group, temporarily slowing things down. Thankfully, it passed quickly (pun intended), and one team member even joked that it was the first time he had lost weight on a work trip. (A lose-win?)

During installation and commissioning, future machine operators are always included in hands-on work. This is the best way for them to learn the “nuts and bolts” of the equipment, understand its functionality and maintenance needs, and identify wear parts and key checkpoints.

Well-trained and knowledgeable operators are just as important as high-quality equipment when it comes to efficient production.

The Results?

The installation, commissioning, and training were successfully completed within the planned schedule, and the customer was very satisfied with the entire project planning and execution.

After all, every project is a team effort between multiple companies and even more people, but in the end, success comes down to planning, communication, and expertise.
